Register Today for Free East Texas Conference on Mental Health, Recovery and Wellness

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health invites people of all ages in the East Texas region to attend a free conference about mental health, recovery and wellness.

 

People can recover from mental illness and live productive, meaningful lives. This conference is for anyone who wants to learn about mental health and how to achieve  recovery and wellness. Scheduled speakers include mental health consumers, family members, and local, regional and state experts and leaders. Learn more.

 

The conference will take place 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 7 at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches and includes a free continental breakfast and lunch. See agenda for details on speakers and presentations.

The conference is for anyone interested in mental health, such as mental health consumers and their families, youth and young adults, advocates, mental health professionals, state and local agency staff, members of faith-based organizations, educators and students. The Hogg Foundation was founded in 1940 by the children of former Texas Governor James Hogg to promote improved mental health for the people of Texas. The foundation’s grants and programs support mental health consumer services, research, policy analysis and public education projects in Texas. The foundation is part of the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement at The University of Texas at Austin.
