How to Apply

Scholarships and Fellowships

The Hogg Foundation awards scholarships and fellowships to promote the study of mental health and pursuit of mental health careers. Scholarships and fellowships are awarded through a competitive application process. Eligibility requirements and application procedures vary for each award.

  • Bilingual Scholarships for Mental Health Workforce Diversity
  • Ima Hogg Scholarships for Graduate Social Work Students
  • Moore Fellowship for Doctoral Research
  • Wallace Memorial Award for Dissertation Research

Grants

Most Hogg Foundation grants are awarded through a competitive request for proposals. Texas-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations are eligible to apply for most grants, including universities, state and local government agencies, and mental health, social service and public policy organizations.

Read the request for proposals document carefully before responding. This document serves as the basis for evaluating proposals and describes the initiative, goals and requirements. A competitive proposal will clearly demonstrate understanding of the initiative and the ability to meet the goals, and will fulfill the requirements. Proposals that don't meet the proposal objectives or requirements will not be considered.

Questions about requests for proposals must be submitted in writing by email, fax or regular mail. To avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest, Hogg Foundation staff do not accept phone calls regarding requests for proposals.

Complete Grant Proposals and Submit Grant Reports Online
To reduce our environmental footprint and simplify our grant reporting process, the Hogg Foundation now requires most narrative and financial reports to be submitted online. Refer to your statement of agreement or contact your assigned program officer for information about reporting deadlines and requirements for your grant.
  • Complete unfinished applications and submit required narrative and financial reports online.
  • For technical assistance, contact the Systems Administrator, (512) 475-7050.

Please note: the Hogg Foundation does not accept unsolicited grant proposals or scholarship requests.
