Robert Lee Sutherland Seminar XV
Integrated Health: Connecting Body and Mind
Hosted by the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health
September 8 - 9, 2008 Austin, Texas
Research shows that physical and behavioral health are interconnected. When the body and mind are treated separately, people are less likely to achieve health – often at a significant cost to the individual, the health care system and larger community.
A strong body of evidence demonstrates that integrating, or systematically coordinating, physical and behavioral health care to treat the whole person has important benefits, especially to consumers.
This exciting, action-packed conference will bring together stakeholders from across Texas to explore the substantial research and emerging practice that support this forward-thinking approach to improving physical and behavioral health.
Conference attendees will:
-
Learn the best practices in integrated health care and how providers in Texas and other states are using them.
-
Find out how integrating health care can benefit Texas consumers, providers, employers and insurers.
-
Identify next steps that communities can take to promote integrated health care in Texas.
